About The Law Offices of John C. Rentz, P.C.

“You like to argue so much, you should be an attorney.” After graduating college, our firm’s founder, John C. Rentz, took these words from his mother to heart and headed to law school at the University of Houston. After graduating near the top of his class, he went to work for the prestigious civil litigation firm, Haynes & Boone in downtown Dallas.

After honing his legal skills providing representation to corporate clients, John decided to align his work with his interests in the Constitution and the laws that directly affect everyday people. He and his wife settled in her hometown of Denton where John took a position in the district attorney’s office. This experience enabled him to know the local judges, attorneys and other prosecutors, along with their policies, practices and what they believed. After nearly eight years of representing the state in criminal and juvenile cases, John founded his criminal defense practice to help protect the rights of Texans, using his experience, relationships and skills to benefit his clients.

Dedicated To Protecting The Constitutional Rights Of All People

“Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” — The Declaration of Independence

“The God that gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time.” — Thomas Jefferson

For some, the above are just words. As an avid history buff and believer in the power of the Constitution, these words hold special meaning for John Rentz. They depict the world we strive for, one governed by and for the people, not one dictated by the whims or desires of big government or its agents. That is why we work hard to ensure that your constitutional rights remain protected at every stage of your case.
